As the Dr. Theodore Atlas Foundation gets ready to support our very own Marcus Brown in the 2012 Summer Olympics this July in London, we’re taking a sneak peak at the Olympics games! This year’s games will begin on July 27 and run until August 12.
The summer games will be more than just an event for the Atlas Foundation this year. Marcus Browne is the 21 year old light heavyweight boxer who has recently earned a spot as a United States Olympian in the summer 2012 Olympics.
As a thirteen year old kid walking into the Atlas Cops & Kids Boxing Club, Marcus Browne learned very quickly not only the skills it would take to succeed in the sport of boxing, but also the difference it would make in his life.
Now, Marcus Browne is just two months away from the biggest fight of his life. The London games will kick off the first boxing event on Saturday, July 28. The first round of the Light Heavyweight fights will begin on July 30. The second round will be held on August 4 followed by the next set of fights on August 8 and 10. The medal rounds will be held on August 12!
Everyone at the Atlas Foundation will be cheering him on throughout the games, and we know our supporters will be too. Marcus is a testament to what the Atlas Foundation aims to do for youth and how much of an impact the commitment, dedication and support can make.
